An unusual history of Islam told in three parts by a British officer based in India who had commended Indian Islamic troops. The first part is a history of Islam, the second the change in Islam brought about by the Fatimides and of the rise of the Shia and the third the rise of the Arab Khalifs and the resurgence of Sunni. xiv+414+44 (The last being book advertising). Brown cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine and Arab design to front board along with blind-stamped design to both boards. Corners are bumped and surface of cloth is rubbed. There is a split to the mid-point of the front joint, though this doesn't affect the integrity of the book. A gathering f pages, 83-94 is becoming separate from the text block but is still attached, otherwise the text-block is tight and in good order. Name written opposite half-title page.
