1st 1940. Almost very good condition in a good dustwrapper. Large format. Cream cloth spine. Beige boards with large pictorial onlay to front. 8 attractive colour plates. B/w text illustrations. A little bumping to spine and corners. A few small marks to covers. Light lines to onlay (only visible at certain angles). Front cover ever so slightly bowed. Pencil inscription to front endpaper, small bookseller's ink stamp to front pastedown. Half-title page and last text page very browned. Foxing, mainly to endpapers and page edges. Brown spots affect lower margins on a few pages including one plate. Dustwrapper has loss, mainly from top of spine and lower corner of front panel. Also has a few small tears and is grubby.
