Signed and numbered 79/500 by Wedge in white crayon. Some marks to cover. The insider's outsider. In the late sixties Wedge opened Top Gear on the Kings road with Pat Booth, and later Countdown, who's clientele included Jagger (the 1969 white frock worn at the stones in the park concert), Marianne Faithfull and the rest of the swinging london jetset- he is also reputedly responsible for the mod target, but lets forget that for now. After Countdown, Wedge became jaded with retail and boutique culture, and decided to move into photography. As a trained milliner his work is highly sculptural, and his preoccupations with surrealism make for arresting work.
