The weekly edition of the "Kobe Chronicle"; 27 issues from 1 July to 30 December 1903 inclusive. 700pp in total; each issue also has pages i - iv which are not inc. in pagination (title page, adverts. & notices). size 24.5 x 4.5 cm. Condition: recent reback - black cloth spin, leather corners and cloth on boards - new endpapers crudely laid down. Cuts to front board & corners very worn (see illust.) Ex-British Ministry of Information Library in New Delhi - only library mark is oval purple ink stamp on blank after fep (this page also has chips to edges). Text block - damp stain to bottom margins pages 19 - 26 & top cover of page missing pages 51 - 96 (neither fault effecting text). Page 188/9 5cm tear in margin; pages 251/2 and 257/8 swapped when bound. Several other small tears to margins ( not effecting text. Slight browning to page edges.
