Hardcover. Zustand: Fair. KATE GREENAWAY (illustrator). 2nd Edition. Illustrated Paper covered Boards, 240 x 180 mm approx. 62 pp with text outlining the purpose of this series of book published by Warne to front paste down and guidance on painting to rear. Undated circa 1910. Date of publication Issue points applicable:- Publisher Frederick Warne & Co. New York Address to rear panel : 12 East 33rd Street.High list of other Greenaway works listed : The Pied Piper of Hamelin. Interestingly - and to confuse -there is a Hamley's 59 Knightsbridge London SW sticker to the front paste down. (Hamley's moved from these premises to their flagship store in Regent Street in 1881). We have settled on attributing a publication date at 1910 as laid into the book when acquired by us is a photograph of four girls in Edwardian dress whom it is likely were the infant hands who with varying degree of proficiency have painted some of the outline drawings as was intended when the book was first sold. Some in water colour and some in wax crayon. Fair- Some soiling, scuffing and discoloration to covers but spine largely intact. Moderate to heavy foxing to end papers, diminishing to prelims. and also edges of book block occasionally affecting margins. Binding sound). Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale. The existence of the photograph laid in and the attempts at colouring some of the illustrations bring a charm and are part of the history of the book. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 124137
