Octavo. 39 (1)pp. Original illustrated two color wraps with white and black lettering on cover, protected in modern mylar. Published on behalf of the "Hauptausschuss Opfer des Faschismus." A committee established on June 6th, 1945 by the municipal authorities in Berlin. The communist Ottomar Geschke was named the chairman of the committee which comprised delegates from all parties and groups from the resistance. The committee was integrated in the East Berlin municipal government in 1950. A collection of eyewitness accounts of men who had been interned in concentration camps. Sachsenhausen was a extermination camp in which tens of thousands of people lost their lives between 1936 and 1945. The accounts given by inmates in this publication shed light on the shocking everyday life in the camp. Includes a detailed account on the diabolic 'procedure' that lead to the death of 18,000 Russian prisoners of war by shots in the neck. Text in German. Wraps with light wear along edges and rubbed.
