A small area of very minor soiling to the base of the title page, and a little uneven toning to the tissue protector. A virtually fine copy. A one-page foreword by the author precedes eighteen black and white drawings of Kirkcudbright, one to each recto with accompanying text to the adjacent versos. King's last important book of drawings, a pictorial record of Kirkcudbright where she and her husband lived after their Paris years; and a splendid companion volume to her previous topographical volumes 'Dwellings of an Old World Town' (1909), 'The Grey City of the North' (1910) and 'The City of the West' (1911).
