The inner flaps of the jacket are lightly age-tanned and light irregular chipping to the edge of the front free endpaper. There are several very light spots of foxing on the fore and bottom edge. But still in quite good condition with a tight binding and clean, unmarked interior. Red staining to the top edge as is expected in a first edition, first printing of this title. Stated first printing with the number line beginning with "2". A very handsome copy of a very important and poignant book.
