Very large folio 21 by 14 inches 2 volume set in 3 volumes. Limited edition of 500 copies. 187 plates total as called for and 100 pages of text. The bindings are in poor condition but this could certainly be rebound as the contents are tight and quite clean. These are ex lib with a perfed stamp on the title page and small stamps on the rear of the plates. The front and back inside cover pages are some sort of vellum or a parchment type paper. The black and white plates seem to be some type of photographic process and are very sharp with good contrast on a heavy stiff paper. There are several beautiful color plates some two page that are fantastic examples of chromolithography. We found no sets for sale and world cat. only lists a few world wide.
