An engaging account of Le Messurier's travels from London to the Caucasus to Vladikavkas, Tiflis via the Georgian military road, Caucasia, Trans-Caucasus railway, Baku, Naphtha Springs, through Transcaspia to Asunada, the Oxus to Bokhara, Persia to Resht, Teheran, Isaphan, Bushire and finally to Bombay, with much on each place visited, astute observations on religion, customs, politics, trade, transportation, etc, and intelligence observations on the Russian rail building across Caucasus.
