Folio format laminated softback. Text in Italian. 64 full-page colour plates followed by 36pp of what amounts to a Catalogue Raisonne and Biography of the artist. Swiss-born Johann Heinrich Fussli spent much of his life in England, and is obviously better known to us as Henry Fuseli RA. Reproductions of his work have often proved inadequate, and the beauty of this book lies in the 64 large scale coloured plates, as well as the studiously-researched b/w catalogue which follows them. Securely bound, with no markings or inscriptions. Paper preliminary section browning at edges; the remainder printed on quality semi-gloss art paper, and having some occasional pale foxing, but really nothing of significance. Externally somewhat age-toned, but predominantly bright and clean, a few surface marks, spine uncreased. PLEASE SEE FIVE ACCOMPANYING IMAGES.
