Beschreibung
First impression of the true first edition. ***Very good in tan cloth covered boards with silver titles to the spine. The boards are clean and unmarked. Edges of text-block foxed, not affecting the interior pages. Internally also very good, with a neat contemporary gift inscription to the top of the front free end paper, with a later owner's name below it. Light vertical crease to the half-title page, possibly a production fault due to the thin War Economy paper used. Spine tight. ***In a good colour illustrated dustwrapper which is corner price-clipped. The dustwrapper is largely complete, but has a chip affecting the top corner of the front panel and the top of the spine. Smaller chip and tear to the bottom edge of the front panel near the spine. The dustwrapper is rubbed and creased at the edges with a couple of very small closed tears to the bottom of the back panel. ***190mm x 130mm. 224 pages. ***First impression of the true first edition of "Lord Hornblower", an early post-war novel by C. S. Forester. *** For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 1505z
