The Wikipedia entry devoted to her says that Katharine Tynan (23 January 1859 ââ?¬â?? 2 April 1931)was "an Irish writer, known mainly for her novels and poetry. After her marriage in 1893 to the Trinity College scholar, writer and barrister Henry Albert Hinkson (1865ââ?¬â??1919) she usually wrote under the name Katharine Tynan Hinkson, or variations thereof." Born in County Dublin, educated in a convent school in Drogheda, author of at least 100 novels, friends with poets W.B. Yeats and Gerard Manley Hopkins. Two previous owners have inscribed the first free endpaper, the binding is sturdy if unlovely, with a forward cock to spine, bent lower front tip, and rough-cut pages. Still bright, tightly bound interior. Closed tear to final page (191), and with three letters missing from tears to p. 189 in three consecutive lines.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
