Soundly and attractively bound in full period blind panelled sheep, with a gilt-rolled and titled red leather spine label and 5 raised bands. The general title page and presumably the preliminary leaves that follow were printed by FRancis Bailey in Lancaster in 1801. These are followed by 715 pgs numbered continuously which reprint the Acts passed by the PA General Assembly for the years 1795 - 1801. Each of the 7 annual sessions has a separate title page. The first 5 were published by Hall & Sellers in Philadelphia and the last 2 by Bailey in Lancaster. Evans: 30976, 36248, 36249, 34323, 36059, 38208. Early ink ownership of James McCalmont. There is a record of a James McCalmont, son of Thomas who came to America in May 1775 as a soldier in General Burgoyne; s Army, and was captured at Stillwater in Oct 1777. He later married in Carlisle and moved to Mercer County in 1803. Contents tight, scattered light foxing throughout.
