S., (1)-2, Table of titles, 1-46, index, (2) errors, blank. The horse's head in the title engraved vignette is in the first state of the original sheets, facing left. (Copies with the horse facing right are sheets printed later in 1814 but dated 1800). Amzi Dodd's copy signed and with his name stamps on the front paste down endpaper, title page and rear blanks. Amzi Dodd (1823-1913) was the Dean of the New Jersey Bar, a founding member of the Republican Party, a leader in the Lincoln campaign, and Vice-Chancellor of New Jersey. Old full brown mottled sheepskin with later repairs to the back-strip ends, joints and corners. Later front free endpaper inserted. Title with rough edges, some tears repaired, and paste action in the margins. Sheets age toned, with some spotting and marginal stains. H10801 All Items Are Sent Insured.
