This edition contains a selection of 61 poems (selected by Christopher Morley) out of the 423 found in the Random House (Grabhorn Press) limited edition of 1930. NOTE: Doubleday produced two bindings for this edition: one, which is of full buckram with green boards and tan spine, from the Haddon Craftsmen, with a slipcase; and the second, of which this copy is one, of green close woven cloth, from the Kingsport Press, which does not appear to have come with a slipcase. Both are of the same dimensions. This copy is Near Fine with no dust jacket and no slipcase. The Text Block is clean, white, tight, straight and square with green topstain, ten (10) color plates and 21 black-and-white plates by Lewis C. Daniel on unnumbered pages, no markings of any kind, but dampstains to the bottom one inch or so of about a third of the pages. The Binding is full green cloth with paste-on title, etc., to spine, all corners square, and some loss of color at the heel of the spine. See photos. 316 + i + 31 pages of plates. 8 5/8" x 11". This particular copy was sold by the Book-of-the-Month Club on January 15, 1943, as evidenced by an invoice which is still in the book. NOTE: This book weighs 1.38 kg. / 3 lb., 1 oz., is of quarto size, and will require extra postage.
