This is a First Edition of the work, in original publisher's black cloth binding with unclipped Dust Wrapper. Ted Willis was an English playwright, screenwriter and novelist known for writing for many television series during and after the Second World War. He was behind the creation of many different programmes, including Dixon of Dock Green, Virgin of the Secret Service and The Adventures of Black Beauty. This particular work follows the story of Christine Ritchie, who is plunged into a world of espionage after her husband's disappearance. From London to Beirut, this novel tells the tale of a dangerous world of spies and counter-spies, with many twists and turns. This work has since been turned into a series on Radio Four.
