Lithuanian language. Octavo 15 x 20 cm. Weight 100 g. Wrappers, 23 pp., [14] pp. artwork reproductions. The book is in Near Fine condition without any visible defects, damages, losses, remarks and stains. Small creases across cover corners, white coated paper of the book cover has become slightly yellowish; internally perfect. Exhibition catalog consists of foreword written by Lithuanian famous artist Adolfas Vale ka overviewing Lithuanian art features and analyzing history and domestic politics, which largely influenced art, list of presented works and 14 full-page artwork reproductions printed on coated fine paper. Exhibition was opened on March 20th, 1937 in Riga City Museum of Art (at present time Latvian National Museum of Art) and organized by Lithuanian state. Organizing such a large exhibition was the first experience, so it became a significant event for Lithuanian culture. On display were 217 artworks of 55 artists in the fields of painting, graphics and sculpture. The exhibition was devoted mostly to the Modernist art, but also were shown creations of artists, who belonged to older Realist generation. Older generation of artists mostly educated abroad, so foreign art models and art movements of the end of 19th century were more important for them. They formed organization named Lihtuanian Art Society. Main representatives of older generation, who participated in exhibition were: J. Vieno inskis, A. Varnas, P. Kalpokas, J. ileika, A. muidzinavicius, V. Did iokas, J. Mackevicius and others. Younger generation artists graduated from the Lithuanian Art School. After graduating some of them trained and completed education abroad, especially in Paris. They organized in 1928 Lithuanian Society of Independent Artists with more than 70 members, which aim was not only to unite Lithuanian young artists, but also to bring together artists of neighbor nations for cooperation. Here are some younger generation representatives, whose works were presented: L. Kazokas, P. Kaufmanas, R. Kalpokas, Ad. Smetona, sculptor P. Aleksandravicius, V. Vizgirda, A. Sumuolis, A.
