Bound in blue pictorial cloth boards with gilt decoration and lettering. Edges are bumped. Shoulders are splitting and spines are damaged top and bottom. Pages are age tanned but clean. Spotting to prelims only. Hinges are beginning to split. Numerous black and white photographs and illustrations. Vol 2 has a fine bookplate to fep and a dedication dated 1899. Subsequent owners have signed the fep. Vol I only has one signature to fep, dated 1943. Millais was extraordirarily gifted from a very early age, as the drawings show. Written by his son. 4to.
