István Irsai (Pesach Ir-Shay or Pesach Irsai; 1896-1968) was a Hungarian-born modernist graphic artist, architect, and designer. He made aliyah in 1944 and became famous in Israel for his modernist-constructivist graphic designs and posters. Irsai also designed stage sets in theatres as well as Bauhaus style houses and is also known as the designer of the sans serif Hebrew typeface Haim named after Bialik. Avigdor Hameiri (1890-1970) was an Israeli author of Hungarian origins. After fighting in World War I, he settled down in Tel-Aviv in 1921. He was the founder of Ha'Kumkum (The Kettle), the first Hebrew satirical theatre, and also the founder of the journals, Lev Hadas (New Heart) and Ha'Mahart (Tomorrow). He was awarded the Israeli Prize for literature in 1968. . Partly unopened. Creased. Cover with light stains. Chipped at edges. Pages yellowed due to aging. Overall in very good condition.
