Publisher's original grey paper-covered boards mounted illustration with titling to the upper cover and spine, all wrapped in the original pictorial paper D/W. Unpaginated; [15] colour plates (including the frontispiece); numerous black and white illustrations in the text. Illustrated end-papers. A solid VG copy with slightly soft spine tips and a scuff to one corner. The boards are really clean. No inscriptions. Slight foxing to the page block edges. There is a small bookseller's ticket to the front paste-down. The RARE D/W is in fair condition; loss to the bottom outer corner of the rear cover (not affecting any lettering) and probably 25% loss to the upper cover, minor tears to edges and (totally un-necessary) repairs to the verso in places. The original purchase receipt from January 1924 is laid in. The D/W is identical to the boards thus the overall appearance of this book is quite attractive.
