in-8, paginé 43-56, broché, couverture muette (papier bleu postérieur), bon état. Edition originale de ce mémoire extrait des Comptes Rendus des Séances et Mémoires de la Société de Biologie. Il s'agit d'un extrait stricto sensu, la Société de Biologie n'ayant d'ailleurs pas réalisé de tirage à part. Ce mémoire, lu à la Société de Biologie en mai 1856, fut également publié en septembre de la même année dans la Gazette médicale de Paris, qui réalisa un tirage à part à pagination séparée. C'est le première mémoire français sur la maladie de Basedow et l'un des premiers textes importants de Charcot (1825-1893), qui fut nommé médecin des hôpitaux la même année et qui devint le maître de la neurologie moderne.
