A very nice copy in the ultra rare original dust jacket. 181 pages no loss or tears. Previous owners inscription on rear of front board. Dated 1949 on the copyright page. First UK edition. Outer gray boards is clear and bright. Fade mark at base of spine. The original unrestored rare jacket shows a price of 6s net on the front flap. Chip to top of spine and one at the base corresponding to the fade spot on the spine board. Rubbing along the top of the front panel. First edition, first impression. Scarce - particularly with dustjacket. A good cream cloth hardback with green printed cover design featuring a fingerprint and magnifying glass. Lightly bumped with some tanning to spiner and a 1cm frayed area to lower rear edge of spine. With a fair dustjacket - worn to extremities with small loss to rear lower edge of spine and frayed and nicked extremities. Price clipped. The reverse with some tape repairs and water staining. Now housed in removable protective clear plastic sleeve. Soundly bound. The text is very good - bright and clear with mild toning and spotting to top edge of text block. With charming black and white illustrations. Text in English. Prelims + 181pp, including illustrations + (2pp). Approximate dimensions: 190mm high x 131mm wide x 20mm deep.
