Seen at auction only once in the last forty years.Author to the title page is stated as George Ollyffe, their name has also been spelt Olyffe.With the bookplate of one 'Right Honble Arthur Lord Viscount Duneraile' tipped in to the title page verso. Most likely to be Arthur St Leger, the Viscount Doneraile.This work was written in support of the Government. At this time Robert Walpole was ascending to power and the political power of the monarch was diminishing. Here Olyffe writes in support of the monarchy and the divine right. With a dedicatory to the Archbishop of Canterbury.An extremely bright copy of this rare work. In a contemporary full speckled calf binding. Externally, very smart with light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Bookplate to the verso of title page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed.
