The very scarce first edition of this work.Containing the history of the use of the instrument in question, alongside an essay on terrestrial radiation, and 'general outline of the climate of the eastern part of England'. With vignette woodcut illustrations throughout.The work of John Henry Belville, an assistant astronomical observer at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, and author of a similar study entitled 'A Manual of the Barometer' published the year before this work. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Ink inscription and spotting to front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Some foxing to first few pages, remaining pages generally bright and clean. Very Good.
