Arnault de Nobleville (1701-1778) est un médecin qui exerçât à Orléans. Il y travaillât avec François Salerne qui co-signe l'épitre dédicatoire. Ce livre est destiné à la médecine des pauvres, donnant des remèdes simples et peu chers à réaliser. Dans le préambule il y est d'ailleurs fait la liste des simples à utiliser avec leurs prix de l'époque.
