Another fine contribution in French language to the influential series, Memoires de l'Institut Imperial de France, Academie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres, this being to Tome XXV - 2° partie, by Jacques Ignace Hittorff (though here with first two names reversed), then a member of L'Academie des Beaux-Arets. Hittorff was born in Cologne, 20 August 1792 and died 25 March 1867, a German-born French architect who, says a Wikipedia entry about him, combined advanced structural use of new materials, notably cast iron, with conservative Beaux-Arts classicism in a career that spanned the decades from the Restoration to the Second Empire." Disbound from a larger volume, 377-413 pp., and then a list of the eight plates included here, each coming with multiple figures. Planche I has xvii figures; Planche II has a single figure. Planche III has five figures, and Planche IV, two. Planche V and Planche VI each have a single figure. Planche VII has four figures, and Planche VIII, two. Each plate is in black-and-white, and each depicts features of art and architecture.
