Nager, a notable Swiss otorhinolaryngologist specializing in hearing loss, here offers a gloomy and patronizing prospect for the Deaf, whom he argues are profoundly isolated, but (of course) with the potential for nobility. Undated; the text of a lecture given to the club on Jan. 28, 1937; the same lecture (one assumes in Swiss or German) was given years earlier noting the creation of the chair of Otolaryngology at the University of Zürich. Inscription on first page says, "For Henry P. Wagener from the Research Study Club" - Wagener was a medical ophthalmologist at the Mayo Clinic. Pamphlet, as pictured; cover is a bit worn around the edges; with some rubbing, light creasing, foxing; ink note.
