Fair+ to Good-. Contemporaneous full inverse paneled calf; rubbed and chipped around the edges. Joints cracking at head and tail but boards held fast with five bands. Hinges cracked. Missing free leaves preceding title page. The title page is a little creased down the vertical and a touch dog-eared. Slightly foxed. Some of the plates have a few damp-stains in the form of half-circles around the edges and corners. There is a little offsetting to some of the leaves and a small closed tear to the margin of two leaves and plates. One map a little dog-eared to outermost edge. All leaves and plates counted. 728pp, plus unpaginated index. 4to. 10 3/4". Illustrated with 'upwards of one hundred engravings.'. 18 fold-out maps and 23 full page engravings. Published by C.
