With ten plates, two of which are coloured and one of which is a folding plate.Vol II - Continues with 'Woods' and moves on to 'Wood-Working, Tools and Machinery.' Includes eight plates, seven of which are monochrome and one of which is a coloured map.Vol III - Includes design-oriented sections 'Drawing and Drawing-Instruments' and 'Practical Geometry'. With six plates of house plans, four of which are coloured.Vol IV - Explains the theory and practice of 'The Strength of Timber and Timber Framing' and moves on to 'Carpentry'. Includes four plates.Vol V - 'Carpentry' continued, with chapters focusing on the design and construction of roofs, as well as floors and ceilings. With fifteen monochrome plates.Vol VI - 'Carpentry' continued, with chapters on areas such as bridges and timber buildings. Next sections are 'Wood Carving' and 'Stairs and Handrailing'. With twenty plates, one of which is coloured.Collated complete.As well as being edited by George Lister Sutcliffe, this work has contributions by many specialists. Sutcliffe was an English Arts and Crafts architect and elected Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with rubbing to the extremities and fading to sections of the cloth. Heavier instances of this to Vol I, Vol V, Vol VI and Vol VII. Bumping to the heads and tails of spines. A few marks to the boards, heaviest to Vol II, Vol III and Vol VIII. Internally, firmly bound.
