This book has many illustrations of ancient monuments and one can only wonder what the author would think of the ISIS destruction of ancient artifacts and monuments in modern Syria and Iraq. This book, 351 pages, is in very good condition in its original blue tooled cloth binding. While the top and bottom on the spine are a bit worn, the nook is very sound and very solid. The title page is loose but not detached A previous owners label is pasted inside the front cover. We likely owe this person a debt of gratitude for preserving an important work.
