The half title page includes a historic 22 Oct 1980 gift inscription which in part states: "My dear Chuck, I had the honor & privilege to ? (can't make out the word) this great man.". Also includes his first class British Airways boarding pass. "This is th first full-length biography of Lord Mountbatten by an author who traveled with him far and wide, from his birthplace to Buckingham Palace, from Broadlands to the castles in Germany where he had lived as a boy.
