Printing history opposite the titlepage records that the first printing was on April 30th 1913 with this, the second impression, printed on 19th May 1913. This copy was offered for sale by P.Rosier, Bookseller of Swansea and Wales, according to the bookseller's ticket in the bottom left hand corner of the front pastedown which is just visible by turning back the corner of the front free endpaper. The front free endpaper was glued to the front pastedown at, or about, the time of publication and the titlepage bears the contemporary rubber stamp of an agent for 'Premier Files, 18 High Street, Cardigan'. The same rubber stamp appears on the rear paste down. The original binding is rubbed and slightly marked, particularly to the top edge of the rear board, but the gilt title and author blocked on the top board is bright. There is some light foxing to the front and rear leaves with a penciled name on the half-title otherwise this is a firm, clean copy. The second impression is rarer than the first impression and, given the circumstances of the books first appearance in print, as described in Harvey's bibliography (A39) , this impression with its apparent association raises an interesting point in relation to its publication history and commercial disposal.
