The opening sentence to The Mysterious Mr. Badman (1934) is a corker: "When at two o'clock on a sultry July afternoon Athelstan Digby undertook to keep an eye on the contents of the old bookshop in Keldstone High Street, he deliberately forgot to mind his own business". VERY RARE. The Author is probably best known for his horror story about a possessed piano player that became the basis for the movie "The Beast with Five Fingers".
