Prospectus laid in. Original quarter maroon leather spine with decorative hand-made paper-covered boards. Bound by E. Gray Perrot II. The decorated paper used on the sides of the binding was made by Seidayu Kodo in Japan. Spine lettered in gilt. Title page printed in red and black; ornaments printed in red throughout. 120, [3] pages. Printed on Bird & Bull "Nagashizuki" hand- made paper, made at the press June, 1979. The text was set in Van Dijck types by Mackenzie-Harris Corp. This is copy number 69 of an edition limited to 300 copies. B&B Twenty-One, A22. Fourteen tipped in paper specimens some made by Timothy Barrett and some by well-known Japanese craftsmen, and 24 black and white illustration, of which eighteen are full page by Richard Flavin. Deckled edges. The text presents the most detailed description of the Japanese hand papermaking technique yet published. One of the finest books from this press and immediately sold out. Printed by Henry Morris, in two colors on his handmade "Nagashizuki" paper with the Nagashizuki water mark.
