NANCY DREW MYSTERY STORIES #13 - THE MYSTERY OF THE IVORY CHARM by CAROLYN KEENE (pen name of Mildred Wirt Benson), published by Grosset & Dunlap, copyright 1936 (original 25 chapters), 1936B-1 first printing dust jacket/first printing book per Farah (Guides for $600) (format 3), orange "silhouette" (Nancy holding a magnifying glass) illustrated endpapers, light blue boards with orange lettering to spine & front cover, "thick" book with glossy (not plain) frontispiece illustration, original "white spine" cover art by Russell Tandy (as distinguished from the "wraparound" or revised cover art found in later books or in revised books from this series), glossy frontispiece with 3 glossy internal illustrations (only found on the first 4 printings of this book), 50c price on DJ front flap. Note - this book never had revised "wraparound" artwork in a dust jacket so only this artwork with the white spine exists in dust jacket format. Dust Jacket Front Flap: Ivory Charm Dust Jacket Rear Flap: Dana Girls - Secret Hermitage (1st printing issue point) Dust Jacket Back Cover: Judy Bolton - Unfinished House Book rear lists: Larkspur Lane, Judy Bolton, Melody Lane (1st printing issue point), Dana Girls Book has no creased page corners, red top stain has no drop spots or fading, slight dust soiling to outer page edges (no age darkening/foxing), endpapers are clean and free from any tape residue, no tearing or splitting of page block from internal hinges, no former owner's markings or used bookseller stamps/stickers inside, no wear to board edges, corners or spine tips, no color wear or surface color tears to boards, no bumped board corners, no white foxing to boards. Dust Jacket has top 1/3rd of rear panel missing (colored stat of missing section has been laid in loose behind the dust jacket inside the DJ protector) otherwise no chipping, tearing or creasing, barest hint of wear to spine tips, almost no wear to front flap crease (just a bit at flap crease corners), hint of edge wear, no soiling or staining, hint of dust rubbing to white rear panel, no dust soiling or age darkening to white spine, no color rubbing to panels, no spine sun darkening (common defect with the white spine books). Overall a N-FINE book in GD (but presents N-FINE from spine & front panel) condition DJ (not price clipped) of a Nancy Drew hardcover first printing with its original dust jacket.
