1966. First edition. 255pp. and many black and white illustrations and line diagrams. Bound in at the end of the book is a copy of a Souvenir Programme for the Cumniock Burgh Centenary Celebrations. The book is bound in the original crosshatch grey cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and a gold illustration of a cockerel on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping to the bottom of the spine. The contents are tight and clean with a name and date (1967) written on the front free endpaper. The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with some soiling and fading to the spine. The top edge is rubbed and the spine ends are bumped and nicked. There is a tear of about 1" on the bottom rear spine corner that has been repaired on the reverse with tape. The wrapper is in an easily removed clear plastic protective cover.
