FIRST EDITION. ** This volume includes the very scarce colorful DJ, and features illustrated front cover and a colorful city map on endpapers. Book displays mild overall aging and wear, with well preserved covers and interior. Front cover features monochrome blue illustrated title label with title in orange, 3" x 7.5", that shows gentle toning. Black boards exhibit minor overall wear with some rubbing to edges, as well as minimal dust and fading. Spine features gently toned illustrated title label with similar colors as label on front cover, and is softening at ends. Binding is secure with a little play. Endpapers are gently toned. Illustration is well preserved. Interior shows gentle toning throughout, and is overall remarkably well preserved. Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks. Pages from 260 to the end show damp stain to lower corner, going about 1" at most into page, leaving text unaffected. Textblock edges have red ink along head, and show mild commensurate toning, with damp stain from interior visible at lower corner. DJ looks great behind Mylar and is backed with archival paper. DJ displays significant toning, with strong sunning to spine. Orange "New York" from title is almost entirely faded. DJ also displays some edgewear with chips going 0.5" into text at ends of spine, light chipping to corners, and a 0.75" closed tear descending from head edge of front cover. Back of DJ has a 3.25" crease descending to foot corner. Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear. ** 316 pages. 5.5 x 7.75 inches. ** Vintage book features monochrome blue illustrated front cover as well as a great DJ, wrapped in Mylar and backed with archival paper. ** DJ mentions maps, drawings and indices. The only maps are on endpapers: front is "Theatrical Map of New York"; back is "Automobile Map to and from New York." All else complete. ** Entertaining and amusing, this guide takes the traveler on a fascinating journey through New York. Blending humor with precision, the author delivers a highly reliable reference book that skims New York borough by borough, street by street, listing all its great features and things to see.
