Nimfale fiesolano [sic], by Boccaccio, Giovanni. There were several editions printed with the printing place of London during the XVIII century, for instance, some were Published by Gian Claudio Molini, Londra [but actually in Paris], 1778. But OUR COPY IS EXTREMELY RARE, the price on the back is set at 3 paoli, the currency used in Rome, controlled by the Pope and where it was forbidden. This book was forbidden for the erotic passages in it. 160 pages, 12x7.5 cm. With the original wraps from the printer, it should be bound. Engraved title page Boccaccio wrote this pastoral tale in the mid-1340s, just as he began work on the Decameron. A young shepherd, unseen, spies a group of naked nymphs bathing in a pool and falls in love with one of them. The plot includes a series of missed opportunities, mistaken identities, appeals to Venus (goddess of love), and plenty of nude bathing scenes.
