A genuine American first edition/first printing, with 'Published by The Viking Press in February 1949' (and no later edition stated) on the copyright page. Some wear to edges of jacket (but no tears or nicks or repairs), and small chips to some corners. A little foxing to end papers. Slight fading to spine of jacket, but the blue and black boards beneath are clean and smooth. Overall, a very nice copy, not price-clipped and with no inscriptions, ex-library stamps or remainder marks. All of our books are protected by a removable plastic cover, and sent to you with care.
