1877. First edition. xii, 211pp. Frederick William Robertson (1816-1853), known as Robertson of Brighton, was an English divine. He published five volumes of sermons, expository lectures and other works. The volume for sale contains 31 expository lectures on Genesis. The book is bound in contemporary half leather over cloth covered boards with gold titling on a leather label and five raised bands on the spine. The case of the book is on very good condition with shelf wear and some soiling on the boards and scuffing to the leather, most noticeably on the bottom front corner. There is some damage and a little loss to the leather on the corner tips. The contents are tight and clean with light foxing to the endpapers and half-title page.
