The sales comprised: (1) 13 September: Fine Oak Furniture lots 1-199 and Metalwork, Works of Art and Textiles lots 401-788; (2) 14 September: Doulton, Martin Brothers and London Stoneware Lots 801-1034; (3) 19 September Sir William Russell Flint, R.A. : The Jeremy Elwes Collection of Prints, Books and Studio Memorabilia Lots 1501-1654; (4) 20 September: Eastern Carpets and Rugs Lots 1901-2109; (5) 21 September: Antiquarian and Modern Books, Maps, Original Illustrations and Prints Lots 2201-2662. The catalogue includes an interesting account by Jeremy Elwes of the formation of his William Russell Flint collection and his conversations with the artist. He states of the collection: "It is perhaps the most complete collection of the history of [Flint's] artistic life, including his earliest drawings, examples of his work as a book and magazine illustrator and during the First World War, signed reproductions of his paintings and watercolours, and some of the contents of his studio, including props and artists materials. The only period I was unable to trace was when he went off as a young man to an island in the Pacific to undertake medical drawings of lepers." Top edge mildly duststained, otherwise Very Good.
