Original 1863 1st edition & 1st state of Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Our Old Home: A Series of English Sketches" with the word "mysterious" on page 145 and a single page of ads at the rear. The book is overall in good condition with some signs of wear and age. The covers have some mild wear. The binding is good and sound. There is some dampstaining to the side margin which is mostly discernable from page 293 through the end of the book, moving into a little bit of the text near the rear. The interior is lightly toned from age with some occasional light foxing. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a minor interior crack, creased page corner, minor bit of soiling or grubbiness, tiny chip or tear etc. Generally though, it's a good copy.
