William Arkwright, 1857-1925, was a descendant of leading Industrial Revolution inventor and entrepreneur Sir Richard Arkwright, noted for his early creation of mass-produced yarn.This work, his final publication, is a collection of scattered thoughts and aphorisms, sometimes expressed in verse. Ranging from the mundane to the spiritual, the work is divided into the four seasons of the year, although the reasoning for this categorisation can be hard to discern. Indeed, in his preface Arkwright states 'love me or leave me, just as found,/ Nor look for a system in the way I'm bound!'. In publisher's original paper covered boards. Externally, bright. Light marks to front board title label. Some discolouration to spine, more severely to spine label. Shelfwear to head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
