First paperback edition, first printing. Contains publisher's first printing number code 7006 and $1.25 price to the front cover, and "First Dell printing 1970" statement to the copyright page. The original first printing in hardcover was published in 1969. Maritime disaster yarn, set aboard a luxury liner on its last voyage and centering on fifteen people trapped aboard as the vessel slowly sinks; filmed in 1972 with an all-star cast headed by Gene Hackman and Ernest Borgnine. Filmed again in 2005. A well-preserved, presentable collectible. Light rubbing to spine perimeters and corner tips, minuscule nick to the lower shelf-edge of front cover, "Nov 27 1970" stamped in small type to the outer upper page edges, else very tight and near fine in glossy color illustrated wraps, all page edges green; original $1.25 price and first printing code 7006 still intact to the front cover.
