First UK Edition. Publisher's black boards with gilt spine lettering., Contents are complete, clean and tight. No marks or inscriptions. Black boards are exceptionally clean and bright. Overall a VG++ copy. The D/W is priced 13/6 net to the inside flap (as called for) and is in VG+ condition with a small blemish to the inside flap likely from the removal of a small price label. The D/W has a thin slither of loss to the top edge of the front panel and a hint of rubbing at the spine tips. The back panel is lovely and clean. Great cover art by John Norbury. The 1969 movie of the same name (starring Jacqueline Bissett and directed by Jerry Paris) was loosely based on this novel but switches the dingy back streets of South London for the dead-end glamour of late 60's Las Vegas. Jacqueline Bissett takes the lead as the partner-hopping gallivant bringing far more sympathy and class to the role than Gelina portrayed in the novel. Uncommon.
