Pages are bright and clear with mild tanning and foxing to free endpapers and text block edges. Minor dog-eared corners. Small nicks along text block edge. Boards have light shelf-wear with minor corner bumping. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Unclipped jacket has light edgewear, with slight creasing and tanning to edges. Elisabeth Schnack (1899-1992) was a literary scholar of Swiss origin, and a prolific translator of English literature into German, with a particular interest in Irish writers, her exchange year while a student at the University of Geneva having been spent in Dublin. Octavo. Original black board, spine lettered and decorated in gilt. With dust jacket. Spine gently rolled, front board a touch bowed.
