A complete but somewhat distressed example of this uncommon humorous novle of "travel" to a remote English town. Prior ownership of a small college's oratorical society with much manuscript ownership notation to front endpages, the bottom hlaf of the flyleaf lost. Cloth at spine splitting along the joints, fraying at edges and distressed generally. Some period undergrad sketches and notations to paper covered boards which are rubbed through and rounded at corners. Scattered light spotting to page stock. Publisher's catalog ads at front and rear. Binding shaken and wek. Good to fair example only with all faults. Rarely seen in the marketplace in original editions. A good candidate for rebacking.
