First edition. Undated, circa 1991. ~7" x 8.5" softcover book, staple bound, with card wraps. Unpaged and extensively illustrated in black and white, many images being cut and pasted into the book. Clean and unmarked with a sound binding. Minor shelfwear, some light unobtrusive soiling/rubbing to covers. Pages bright and crisp, but many are discolored where glue was used to paste in images. Text and image all remains legible nonetheless. Published by the Durham, NH based Tray Full of Lab Mice Publications, co-edited by Melissa and Matt Jasper starting sometime in the late 1980's, this book is a collection of prose vignettes variously dreamlike, realist, and mythical, interspersed with non-sequitur images, bizarre aphorisms and poetic fragments. The book shares a title with an experimental video of the same name and likewise by Jasper, an excerpt of which was screened in 1992 at PXL This 2, a long-running experimental video festival in Los Angeles dedicated to works made on the Fisher-Price PXL 2000 toy camcorder. Little else could be ascertained about this obscure artist and publisher, but the book is a curious, enigmatic transmission, rare and in very good condition.
