The first edition of one of the best-known works on Spiritualism, and in particular Spirit photography, of the early twentieth century. James Coates was a committed Spiritualist, a regular contributor to the Spiritualist journals "Light" and "Two Worlds" and wrote and edited various books and pamphlets including "Has W. T. Stead Returned? A Symposium" (1913); Practical Hypnotist (1905) and Seeing the Invisible (1906). A bright very good copy with the gilt stamped covers and spine being quite bright.
